Meet our Administrative Team

  • BVEC

    Emma Lewis

    Receptionist & Office Administrator

Emma joined the reception team in 2014. Emma's main role on team reception is processing insurance claims for our clients.

Originally from Mid Wales and having graduated from Warwick University with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, Emma moved to the Cotswolds in 1998.

She originally worked as a travelling head girl and head girl for National Hunt trainers; and then as an estate, stud and racing secretary.

Emma has ridden show ponies, working hunters and eventers from a young age and still rides out regularly before work for local racing yard McPherson and Killahena where her partner Jodie is Assistant Trainer.

She enjoys walking with her dog Archie, and visiting Herefordshire where her mum looks after her children's retired ponies and breeds her own Welsh ponies.

  • Katie Pettigrew

    Katie Pettigrew

    Receptionist & Office Administrator

Katie joined the Bourton Vale team in February 2019. Originally from Northamptonshire, Katie moved to the Cotswolds in 2002. Katie heads up the administrative side of our export certificate service and works closely with some of our vets; to manage their diaries and help them to keep on top of paperwork. Having been with us now 5 years, she is a familiar voice on the end of the phone for many of our clients.

Previously she has worked as a groom and travelling head girl for National Hunt trainers, and more recently has owned and run her own B&B.

Katie's family trained point-to-point horses and eventers which she was involved with from a young age and continues to compete her mare Lily during her spare time.

  • Fran

    Fran Seward

    Receptionist & Office Administrator

Fran joined the team at Bourton Vale in June 2022. Fran works closely with our stud vets and their clients, so has her hands particularly full during the breeding season. Fran is qualified as an AMTRA RAMA (SQP) which means she has undertaken some further studies to ensure she can give appropriate and up-to-date advice on responsible worming of horses; she calls many of our clients to report their worm egg count results and advise on treatments.

She has travelled all over the world with her family and has been groom to multiple professional event riders. In her spare time, Fran enjoys walking her dogs, spending time with her family and riding her horse.

  • Caroline Arkell

Having lived in this area all of her life, Caroline joined us at Bourton Vale in January 2023.

She worked as a hunting groom for many years before going to work at Bamford, as a senior front of house team member.

Outside of work, she enjoys competing her two retrained racehorses Mouse and Twirl in the ROR showing series.
